POPPA’S HOUSE, starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr., features Wayans as legendary talk radio host and happily divorced “Poppa” who has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-hostis hired, and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son, a brilliant dreamer who is trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband. Atkins plays Dr. Ivy Reed, Poppa's new co-host.
Atkins has been a series regular on numerous network and cable shows including “Malibu Shores,” “Half & Half,” “Are We There Yet,” “Marlon,” “Ambitions,” “First Wives Club,” “The Company You Keep,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and the short lived, critically acclaimed CBS drama “Under One Roof” with Joe Morton and the iconic James Earl Jones. She also had a recurring role on “Reasonable Doubt.” Atkins directed a television movie for the first time in 2020 with “Christmas Dilemma” for TVOne.
