Premiering Oct. 13 on The CW is Season Three of Batwoman, starring Javicia Leslie, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang, Camrus Johnson, Victoria Cartagena, Robin Givens, and Nick Creegan.

In season three of “Batwoman,” Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) has shed her parole for the Batsuit and her van for the Batcave to carry out the legacy of Batwoman and protect Gotham’s underserved communities. Her journey continues as she and the Bat Team focus on finding Batman’s scattered trophies, a collection of objects seized from Gotham’s most infamous villains, before they land in pernicious hands. Meanwhile, Ryan personally struggles with the bombshell dropped by Alice (Rachel Skarsten) - that her birth mother is still alive.

As visits from villains past loom over Gotham and anyone can become a baddie by finding a wayward Bat trophy, Renee Montoya (Victoria Cartagena) steps in to supervise recovery of the scattered artifacts, forcing an unwelcome partnership between Gotham’s favorite hero and most notorious ne’er-do-well. And despite best efforts to avoid her newly uncovered past, Ryan is thrust into the world of super mogul Jada Jet (Robin Givens) and her son Marquis (Nick Creegan) when Wayne Enterprises lands on the radar of another one of Gotham’s most powerful families.

Givens, a new series regular on the DC drama, will play Jada Jet. A powerful CEO for Jet Industries, Jada isn’t bossy: she’s the boss. Passionate and hard working, a woman who has worked her way through life’s ups and downs to climb her way to the top — all while being extremely protective over her impetuous son. A woman with a deep past that forced her to give up her first-born child, Jada is a woman with a good heart, but will do whatever it takes to protect her family.

Givens is currently recurring in the upcoming HBO Max series Head of the Class, reprising her role as Darlene Merriman from the original series. In the followup series, Darlene is Terrell’s (Brandon Severs) mother.

Previously, she recurred as Sierra McCoy on the CW’s Riverdale, and directed a couple of episodes of the hit series. She also directed the 2021 feature film Favorite Son. Her film credits include Head of State with Chris Rock, Tyler Perry’s The Family That Preys and the upcoming Last Looks with Mel Gibson and Charlie Hunnam. Her recent television work also includes a recurring role on ABC’s The Fix and a series regular role on OWN’s Ambitions.

BlackFilmandTV.com’s Wilson Morales spoke with Leslie and Givens on Season 3 and what lies for Leslie’s character.
