Exclusive: Companion interviews with Jack Quaid, Sophie Thatcher and writer/director Drew Hancock

Hitting theaters on Jan. 31 from Warner Bros. is the horror thriller Companion, written and drirected by Drew Hancock and starring Sophie Thatcher and Jack QuaidLukas GageMegan SuriHarvey Guillén, with Rupert Friend.

According to its trailer, Sophie Thatcher plays a woman who seemingly is being romanced at gunpoint by a mysteriously smiling Jack Quaid. In one scene, she is chained to a chair while Quaid wines and dines her. In another, he or someone else chases and then drags her through a forest by the ankle. At one point, she stabs an assailant in the neck. Back at the table, she stares at Quaid and holds her hand over a candle’s flame until her arm catches fire.

Quaid, who is one of the stars of Amazon’s The Boys, was recently part of the all-star cast of Christopher Nolan’s Oscar Award Winner Oppenheimer. The actor is one of the voice stars of the popular Paramount+ animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks and starring in another hit Star Trek show, Stranger New Worlds. Quaid also starred in Paramount’s 2002 reboot of Scream alongside legacy cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette.

Thatcher is best known for playing teenage Natalie, the younger version of the character portrayed by Juliette Lewis, in Yellowjackets, Showtime’s acclaimed and popular survival drama. She also had a role in 20th Century Studios’ adaptation of Stephen King story The Boogeyman.
