Exclusive: Antonio Banderas talks Paddington In Peru, Reflects On Past Heart Attack

Hitting theaters on Feb. 14 from Sony Pictures is Paddington in Peru, which continues the adventures of the Paddington Bear after Paddington (2014) & Paddington 2 (2017). Directed by English filmmaker Dougal Wilson, making his feature directorial debut after many music videos and short films, the comedy adventure sequel stars the voices of Ben Whishaw as Paddington Brown and Imelda Staunton as Aunt Lucy, Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Carla Tous, and Antonio Banderas, plus Olivia Colman as "The Reverend Mother.

Paddington in Peru brings Paddington's story to Peru as he returns to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears. With the Brown Family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru.

Banderas plays Hunter Cabot, a dashing and intrepid riverboat captain who offers to help the Brown family on their Peruvian adventure. His motives are mixed as he longs for gold and the famed, long-lost city of El Dorado.

The screenplay is written by Mark Burton, Jon Foster, James Lamont; from a story by Mark Burton, Simon Farnaby, Paul King. Based on characters by Michael Bond.

Banderas, who has starred in many films and has been a frequent collaborator of award-winning Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar, recently starred opposite Nicole Kidman in Babygirl. His recent film credits include The Clean Up Crew, Cult Killer, and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
